Thank you for allowing us to brighten your smile.

Now that you have that beautiful WHITE smile, there are a few important things to remember to ensure it remains that way for as long as possible.

After a teeth whitening treatment, the pores of your enamel are open which make them vulnerable to any stains that can reverse the whitening benefits achieved. We recommend following the below instructions until the pores close, which usually occurs within 24 hours following the treatment, after which you can resume your normal diet.

For the next 24 hours, we recommend following a WHITE diet, which means avoiding any food or drinks that would typically stain a white shirt, as these are the main culprits in re-staining your teeth.

What to avoid:

  • Dark staining drinks such as: coffee, tea, red wine, soft drinks or carbonated water, sports drinks, coloured alcohol and fruit juice.

  • Dark staining food such as: curry, beetroot, chocolate, red meat, berries, bolognese and sauces.

  • Avoid wearing lipstick.

  • Avoid using coloured toothpaste and mouthwash.

  • Avoid smoking.

Your Aftercare Kit

Your teeth will continue to whiten over the next 24 hours after your teeth whitening treatment. The items in your aftercare kit will ensure your results are maintained for as long as possible:

  • 2 x Oral B Tooth Wipes: use one tooth wipe for the first time brushing your teeth after treatment, as a tooth brush can be abrasive and can result in sensitivity. The other tooth wipe is there in case you still have some sensitivity later in the next day, or just as a tooth brush on the go. Great if you are out or dining and need to freshen up.

  • 2 x Vitamin E Swabs: you can use these over the next 24 hours to hydrate and soothe your lips and gums. Simply break the tip at the red line, wait 10 seconds for the gel to reach the bottom of the cotton bud and apply on lip area to help with dryness as well as the gum area where sensitivity or irritation may occur.

  • Touch Up Pen - 18% Carbonate Peroxide: the touch up pen is there to ensure your teeth remain at their new shade for as long as possible. The gel will repel any food staining particles as your diet and lifestyle resumes. We recommend using this pen at least 3 times a day after breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Step 1: Dry the front of your teeth with a tissue.

Step 2: Open the pen lid and twist the bottom of the pen until you see a small bead of gel appear at the brush end.

Step 3: Apply a thin layer of gel to the front top and bottom teeth. Keep twisting the pen to obtain the desired amount of gel at the brush end. You will only require a thin layer of gel to cover the surface of your teeth.

Step 4: Keep your mouth open for 2 minutes, avoiding your lips from touching your teeth.

Step 5: Relax your mouth. There is no need to rinse your mouth. If you feel there is a lot of gel left you can spit it out, otherwise there is no need to do so.

We recommend using the pen as needed throughout the day and using it up until it runs out.

Tips

  • Drink coffee through a straw. This can help minimize the contact with your teeth.

  • Use your touch up pen after staining foods or drinks. Apart from using your pen after each meal, you can additionally use it throughout the day especially after a coffee, a cigarette or any staining food or liquid in your diet.

  • Brush and floss your teeth regularly. Use the tooth wipes provided in your after care box for the first time brushing your teeth after treatment, as a tooth brush can be abrasive and can cause some sensitivity. We then recommend rinsing your mouth with water after each meal.

  • If sensitivity occurs. We recommend using a sensitive toothpaste such as Sensodyne. Apply a small amount on the sensitive area of your gums, leave for a minute and then rinse. Bonjela can also be helpful by applying a thin layer on the sensitive area. If sensitivity becomes severe, we recommend taking Panadol for quick relief.
